FU MANCHU
Fu Manchu restaurant was built up over many years by the vision & energy of the owner, & it is in some ways an expression of her. The new Fu Manchu restaurant was a chance to redefine where the restaurant is at 16 years on.
Traditional Penang street eateries were sources of inspiration, with their mixture of pragmatic, traditional & modern. Over 80 timber items were made in a traditional carpentry shop in northern China: tables, chairs, stools, screens, doors & shelves.
Details include: sliding timber screens to give a variety of room configurations.
